Chris Isaak Needs a Haircut...

...or rather, needed a haircut that is, until he walked into Sarah's barber shop a few weeks ago. When we were in Denver a couple of weeks ago, Sarah called me up one afternoon and asked if I wanted to go see Chris Isaak play in Boulder. She then explained that she had just given him a haircut and that he would put her and a guest on the guest list for his show that night in Boulder. I was totally thrilled! I was imagining front row seats, back stage passes, a night cap (non alcoholic, of course) with Chris and the band, and memories to last a lifetime. But alas, it was nothing more than a couple of comp tickets in an envelope with Sarah's name on it.

Unfortunately, we arrived about 20 minutes into his set because people are stupid and can't drive in the rain. The venue was relatively small and intimate, not seating more than about 1000 or so people and our seats were about half way back, which was just close enough to see the details of his fresh haircut and neck shave. While Sarah admitted it was not totally her cup of tea, we had a good time and enjoyed the music. We also had a good laugh at the drummer that was playing a little drum like the guy in "There's Something About Mary."

All I have left to show is a crappy picture on my cell phone, which will inevitably stay there forever because I will never subscribe to data services, a ticket stub which is still in my makeup bag, and a really good story to tell.

I once danced on stage with Chris Isaak. That's my one claim to fame. He puts on a pretty fun concert. I'm excited to find your blog.

I thought they had 'roadies' for tasks like haircuts. Who knew?!!

Sounds like fun, I love live music.
And I love the mental image you gave me with the drummer. That cracked me up.
