So, it has been forever, but I am finally up to posting some pictures from the River Rock Youth Triathlon Parker participated in this past August (here in Rexburg). He was a bit hesitant to participate when we first brought it up, but once we informed him that everyone wins and gets a medal, he was on board! For about three weeks prior to the triathlon, we all trained as a family to help him prepare for the race. Even I, a self-proclaimed non-runner, ran laps around the track with Parker to help him train. We rode bikes and even went to the pool to practice swimming. Training was pretty fun for the whole family. We are already excited to do it again next year!
Parker raced in the 5-7 age group. They swam 50 yards, biked .8 miles and ran 1 mile. Training for the next triathlon will commence when the snow melts next June.
